My name is Kenneth Shelton, and I am honored to be the 2023- 2024 President of AMPA. I hope, if you are not a member, that this will be your year to join! If you are a member, I challenge you to get involved and recruit others. I totally feel that the only way for us to be heard as a collective group is by continuing to increase our membership numbers. This will allow us to have a “bigger” voice on the national level. We ended the 2022 year with a membership total of 328, up from 2021 of 282! I believe in our industry and would like to see the number even higher this year-end. I might add this is a great organization to be a part of.

Among the changes and plans, we want to continue to promote involvement in AMPA. We are a nonprofit organization whose mission is to advance lending integrity and ethical standards to better serve and protect Alabama Homeowners. AMPA seeks to do this by providing mortgage professionals with continuing education programs where members learn, share, and develop the best practices. AMPA also seeks to protect the interests of the mortgage industry by advocating sustainable lending practices in the legislative process. We intend to uphold our mission and challenge each other in these principles each year.

I look forward to seeing each of you at one of our upcoming events.
